Description: Major Service Kit
Condition: New
Brand: Cummins®
Part Number: 0132-0380

Vehicle Fitment

  • Cummins® Marine & Industrial Engines: B-Series, C-Series, and K-Series marine propulsion and auxiliary engine units.

  • Cummins Onan® Marine Generators: Heavy-duty marine diesel generator sets (MDKC, MDKD, MDKE, or similar mid-to-large marine gensets).

  • Industrial & Commercial Equipment: Commercial vessels, tugboats, workboats, and stationary industrial power units requiring scheduled major cooling/sealing overhauls.

The Major Service Kit is an OEM preventative maintenance and rebuild kit engineered primarily for raw/sea water cooling pumps and major maintenance intervals on Cummins® marine diesel engines and Cummins Onan® marine generator sets.

1. What is it?

Part is a comprehensive overhaul service kit containing all the essential wearing components needed to service or rebuild a marine raw water pump or major cooling unit. Instead of replacing individual failed seals or impellers piecemeal, this kit provides a complete set of factory-matched elastomeric and mechanical seals to restore original cooling efficiency and prevent catastrophic engine overheating.

2. Kit Contents & Core Components

  • Flexible Neoprene / Nitrile Impeller: The primary rotating component responsible for pumping cooling water through the engine heat exchanger.

  • Mechanical Shaft Seals & Lip Seals: Prevents sea water from leaking into the engine oil system or pump bearings.

  • O-Rings & Housing Gaskets: High-temperature, chemical-resistant elastomeric seals to rebuild the pump cover plate and mounting flanges.

  • Wear Plates & Fasteners: Precision metal plates to restore proper internal clearances and suction pressure inside the pump body.

Signs of Faulty

1. High Engine/Generator Operating Temperature or Overheating Alarm

  • Symptom: The generator or engine temperature gauge spikes into the red zone, or high-temperature automatic shutdown codes trigger during operation under load.

  • Cause: Degraded or torn flexible impeller vanes failing to draw sufficient raw/sea water through the engine heat exchanger.

2. Active Sea Water or Coolant Leaks from the Pump Weep Hole

  • Symptom: Saltwater, raw water, or oil dripping continuously from the weep hole or rear mounting flange of the raw water pump assembly.

  • Cause: Failed internal mechanical shaft lip seals, allowing raw water to breach the pump housing barrier.

3. Reduced Water Flow / Weak Exhaust Water Discharge

  • Symptom: Noticeably low volume or sputtering water flow exiting the wet exhaust outlet at the transom or side hull.

  • Cause: Grooved pump housing wear plates, missing impeller blades, or excessive clearance inside the pump chamber resulting in lost suction pressure.

4. Squealing Noise or Bearing Play in the Pump Assembly

  • Symptom: High-pitched whining or metallic grinding noise originating from the water pump area, accompanied by axial play when shaking the pump pulley by hand.

  • Cause: Water intrusion into the internal pump shaft bearings due to primary seal failure, leading to bearing corrosion and mechanical play.
