Condition: New
Brand: Detroit Diesel®
Part Number: 23530737
An EGR valve 23530737 (short for Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve) is a key part of a vehicle’s emission control system. The main job of the EGR valve is to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, which are harmful pollutants created when an engine runs at high temperatures.
Besides emissions control, the EGR valve also supports overall engine performance:

Signs of Faulty 23530737:
|
1. Rough Idle or Stalling
2. Poor Engine Performance If the valve is stuck closed, no exhaust gas recirculates. 3. Check Engine Light (CEL) The ECM monitors the EGR system. 4. Reduced Fuel Efficiency When the EGR valve doesn’t open or close correctly, combustion becomes less efficient, causing the engine to burn more fuel. 5. Increased Emissions / Failed Emission Test A stuck or clogged EGR valve can cause higher NOx emissions or even black smoke from the exhaust. 6. Knocking or Tapping Sounds When combustion gets too hot (from a closed EGR valve), you might hear pinging or knocking noises — signs of pre-detonation. 7. Engine Surging or Hesitation An EGR valve that opens or closes at the wrong time can cause surging or hesitation during acceleration. |
