Vehicle Fitment
1. Compatible Engine Models This fuel pump is specifically engineered for legacy, high-displacement heavy commercial diesel engines. It is a direct factory fit for:
2. Common Vehicle and Machinery Applications Because it is designed for ultra-heavy-duty or industrial-grade power platforms, this fuel pump fits a wide variety of specialized commercial transport vehicles and industrial machinery:

The Fuel Pump is a heavy-duty, mechanical gear-driven fuel transfer pump (or lift pump) designed for large-displacement commercial and industrial diesel engines.
1. What is it? Unlike electrical pumps found in modern light vehicles, this is a rugged, heavy-duty mechanical component engineered to bolt directly to the engine's accessory drive or gear housing. It is built to operate continuously in extreme environments—such as marine, mining, and heavy construction sites—ensuring a steady supply of diesel fuel to the high-pressure injection system. 2. Signs of Faulty
1. Severe Engine Power Loss and Bogging Under Load The most common sign of a faulty mechanical lift pump is a lack of power when the vehicle or machine climbs a hill or lifts a heavy load. If the pump's internal gears wear down or the pressure relief valve weakens, it cannot deliver the massive volume of fuel required at high RPM. The engine will feel sluggish, "bog down," or fail to reach its peak horsepower. 2. Hard Starting or Complete Refusal to Start A healthy mechanical pump holds prime and quickly pulls fuel from the chassis tanks during cranking. If the internal check valves are damaged or internal seals are leaking, fuel will drain back into the tanks when the engine is turned off. This results in extended cranking times (hard starting) or an engine that refuses to fire up at all due to air pockets in the fuel system. 3. Engine Misfiring, Rough Idling, or Stalling When a fuel pump delivers erratic or low pressure, the fuel injection system cannot meter fuel precisely to the cylinders. This causes the engine to idle violently, shake, or misfire. In severe cases, when you drop the throttle back to an idle, the fuel pressure may plunge too low, causing the engine to stall completely. 4. Fuel Leaking from the Pump Housing or Shaft Seal Over thousands of operating hours, the mechanical shaft seals that isolate the fuel from the engine's gear train can wear out. You may notice diesel fuel dripping externally from the pump housing onto the ground, or worse, leaking internally into the engine's accessory drive, which can dangerously dilute the engine oil with diesel fuel. |
