Allison Transmission® is the largest manufacturer of commercial-duty automatic transmissions and hybrid propulsion systems for various applications, including medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles and city buses. It was initially founded over 100 years ago by James Allison to help fund and build the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. But in 1960, it became highly recognized when it launched the world's first fully automatic transmission for commercial vehicles. This has paved the way for Allison to become what it is today—a world-renowned company that helps improve the way the world works. It attributes its success to its products, world-class processes, and people.
