Description: ABS Trailer Relay Valve (10 Psi)
Condition: New
Brand: Wabco®
Part Number: R955378, R955378NX

  • Weight: 5 lbs
  • Fit for: Kenworth, Peterbilt
  • Functions:
    • Emergency braking: In the event of a sudden braking situation, the relay valve can help to prevent the trailer's wheels from locking up by rapidly reducing the braking force.
    • Wheel speed monitoring: The trailer's ABS sensors monitor the rotational speed of each wheel. If a wheel starts to lock up, its rotational speed will decrease rapidly.
    • Brake pressure control: When the trailer's ABS sensors detect that a wheel is starting to lock up, the relay valve reduces the braking force to that wheel. This prevents the wheel from locking up and helps to maintain steering control of the trailer.
    • Trailer braking activation: The valve also plays a role in activating the trailer's brakes in response to the tractor-trailer's braking system. When the tractor-trailer's brakes are applied, the valve allows hydraulic fluid to flow to the trailer's brake chambers, activating the trailer's brakes.
