181840 | Genuine Cummins® Thermostat

Functions:
Preventing overheating: By controlling the flow of coolant, the thermostat helps to prevent the engine from overheating.
Reducing emissions: By maintaining the engine's operating temperature within a specific range, the thermostat helps to reduce emissions.
Temperature regulation: The thermostat maintains the engine's operating temperature within a specific range. When the engine is cold, the thermostat remains closed, restricting the flow of coolant to the radiator. This allows the engine to warm up quickly. Once the engine reaches its optimal operating temperature, the thermostat opens, allowing coolant to flow through the radiator to dissipate heat.

The thermostat is important for maintaining the engine at the optimum temperature, preventing overheating and reducing emissions. It regulates the flow of coolant, ensuring that the engine warms up quickly and operates stably at the optimum temperature.
