Description: Hydraulic Control Valve For Komatsu AX50 / BX50 Series Forklifts
Condition: New
Brand: Komatsu®
Part Number: 3EB-61-A7112

Vehicle Fitment

1. Compatible Equipment Families

The 3EB part number prefix is unique to Komatsu’s material handling and industrial lifting engineering divisions. This specific control valve is engineered to regulate lifting, tilting, and auxiliary attachment functions, primarily fitting:

  • Komatsu AX50 / BX50 Series Forklifts: Premium internal combustion (diesel, gasoline, and LPG) industrial forklifts with lifting capacities ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 tons.

  • Specific Models: Frequently utilized on workhorse models like the FG15/18ST-20, FG25T-16, FD25T-16, and FG30HT-16 industrial warehouse trucks.

2. Installation Location & System Role

This valve block is mounted inside the main chassis belly, positioned beneath the operator floorboard or directly next to the mechanical control levers. It connects directly to the main hydraulic pump, receiving raw fluid volume and precisely dividing it between the primary mast lift cylinders, the forward/backward tilt cylinders, and any side-shifter or bale-clamp attachments.

The HYDRAULIC CONTROL VALVE is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) multi-spool directional hydraulic control block. It serves as the primary fluid distribution system on selected Komatsu internal combustion forklifts.

1. What is it?

This part is a high-pressure cast-iron valve block consisting of multiple precision-machined internal spools and micro-switches. When an operator pulls the mechanical levers inside the cabin, it physically shifts the internal spools inside this block, creating a direct path for the hydraulic fluid to flow under extreme pressure to the required component.

2. Core Functions

  • Directional Fluid Routing: It manages the essential movements of the forklift. Spool 1 controls the vertical mast lifting cylinders, Spool 2 regulates the tilt cylinders (forward/backward angle), and auxiliary spools control optional hydraulic attachments like side-shifters or clamp mechanisms.

  • Pressure Management & Overload Safety: It features an integrated primary main relief valve. If the operator tries to lift a load that exceeds the forklift's rated capacity, this internal safety valve opens to bypass the fluid back to the tank, preventing hydraulic lines from exploding or the mast from snapping.

  • Precise Speed Feathering: The valve allows for proportional control ("feathering"), meaning the further the driver pulls a lever, the wider the valve opening becomes, allowing for millimeter-precise placement of heavy warehouse pallets.

Signs of Faulty

1. Mast Drift (Spontaneous Dropping or Tilting)

If you lift a heavy pallet, release the controls, and watch the mast slowly sink downward or tilt forward on its own, the internal valve is failing. When the internal spools or check valve seals score and wear down, pressurized oil slowly bypasses the closed block, causing the cylinders to lose position under load.

2. Heavy Hydraulic Oil Leaks Around the Control Levers

The ends of the sliding spools are sealed with specialized rubber O-rings and dust boots. Due to years of continuous shifting and internal heat, these seals dry out and rupture. You will notice puddles of hydraulic oil pooling on the floorboards beneath the operator's control levers or streaming down the sides of the valve block assembly.

3. Stiff, Binding, or "Stuck" Control Levers

The control levers should snap back to a neutral position smoothly when released. If a spool becomes bent from mechanical abuse, or if microscopic metal shavings lodge inside the bore tolerances, the levers will feel hard to pull, bind up, or remain stuck in the "open" position, causing dangerous uncontrolled mast movements.

4. Loss of Lifting Power or Slow Operational Speed

If the forklift struggles to lift loads well within its rated capacity, or if the lifting speed slows down significantly while the engine revs up, the integrated main relief valve inside this block may be faulty. If its internal spring relaxes or breaks, the valve continuously bypasses pressurized oil straight back to the hydraulic tank instead of directing it to the mast.

5. Spongy, Jerky, or Erratic Mast Movements

When a control valve develops internal housing cracks or compromised seals, it can allow air to get sucked into the high-pressure circuits. This leads to a spongy feel in the levers, and the lifting mast will move with a dangerous shaking, shuddering, or jumping motion instead of a smooth, linear ascent.
