1. Core Brand Compatibility This air filter is factory standard equipment and a direct service replacement for Paccar’s signature commercial vehicle brands:
2. Common Truck Models & Fitment The P621725 filter element is primarily designed to fit modern, aerodynamic, and vocational Class 8 truck chassis equipped with high-horsepower engines. It is most commonly found in:

The Air Filter is a premium-grade, panel-style primary engine air filter engineered specifically to protect heavy-duty Class 8 commercial diesel engines.

1. What is it? Manufactured for Paccar by Donaldson—a global leader in filtration technology—the P621725 utilizing advanced PowerCore® G2 media technology. Instead of traditional round, pleated paper filters, this unit features an innovative stacked-pleat layout. It is designed to fit tightly into the specialized, space-restricted engine bays of modern aerodynamic Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. 2. Core Functions

Signs of Faulty
|
1. Restriction Gauge Stays in the "Red" Zone Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks are equipped with a mechanical air restriction gauge (often called a Filter Minder) on the dash or under the hood. As the PowerCore media fills with dust, the vacuum pressure inside the housing rises. If the indicator moves into the red zone, the P621725 filter has reached its maximum holding capacity and must be replaced. 2. Noticeable Drop in Fuel Economy When the filter is severely choked, the engine's Electronic Control Unit (ECU) must work harder to draw air through the restricted channels. To compensate for the lack of oxygen and maintain performance, the fuel-to-air ratio is altered, leading to poor combustion efficiency and increased diesel consumption over your long-haul routes. 3. Engine Hesitation and Loss of Power Under Load If you are pulling a heavy load up a grade and notice the engine "bogging down," lagging, or failing to accelerate smoothly, it is often due to air starvation. Without enough clean airflow, high-displacement engines like the Paccar MX-13 or Cummins X15 cannot reach their peak horsepower. 4. Black Smoke from the Exhaust Stack A dark, black smoke pouring from the exhaust pipe indicates an overly "rich" fuel mixture—meaning there is too much diesel and not enough oxygen burning in the cylinders. This is a classic sign of a heavily restricted air filter that is starving the combustion chamber of fresh air. 5. Turbocharger Whine or "Dusting" Damage If the filter element is physically torn or if the axial seal has failed, unfiltered air will bypass the media. You may hear an unusual high-pitched whine from the turbocharger as microscopic dust particles sandblast the precision compressor blades. This is a critical condition known as engine "dusting," which can quickly cause catastrophic engine failure. |
